VOTER INFORMATION

Check if you are eligible to vote

You can vote in the 2026 election if you are: 

  • A Canadian citizen; and 

  • At least 18 years old; and 

  • A resident of Milton; or 

  • Not a resident in the Town of Milton, but you or your spouse own or rent property in Milton; and 

  • Not prohibited from voting under any law

  • You can only vote once, no matter how many properties you own or rent in Milton.

How to vote

Vote in Person

  • You can vote in-person on advance voting days (Oct. 12 to Oct. 15, 2026), or on Election Day (Oct. 26, 2026). Advanced voting and Election Day voting locations to be shared at a later date.

  • If you are not on the voter’s list, but you are an eligible elector, you can still vote. 

Vote by Mail

  • Eligible voters can request a Vote by Mail kit from Sept. 1 to Sept. 28, 2026. Kits will be mailed beginning Sept. 28, 2026. 

  • To return your completed kit by Canada Post, it must be mailed by Oct. 15, 2026. 

  • If you miss the mail deadline, you can drop off your completed vote-by-mail return envelope at:
    Town Hall, 150 Mary St., by 8 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2026.

Advance voting locations

Advance voting is available from Oct. 12 to Oct. 15, 2026.  

On Oct. 12 (Thanksgiving Day), voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

From Oct. 13-15, voting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.   

During advance voting, you can cast your ballot at any advance voting location.
